The purpose of the courses is to assist you to obtain your Mine Environmental Control qualifications and to assist you in understanding the concepts used in our discipline so that you can be a competent Mine Ventilation Practitioner.


All courses are R1,200 (excl. VAT) per candidate per day. (For example, 1 person on a 5-day course costs 1 x 5 x R1,200 = R6,000 excl. VAT.)

Lunch is included.

For the Practical in MEC, there is an additional Assessment Fee of R600. This assessment is done by an external Assessor.

Transport and accommodation are not included in the course fees. However, if there are more than four candidates from one area, you can arrange for the trainer to come to you to save costs.

  • On the R500, take the Tau Tona off-ramp
  • Follow road for 4 km, passing three traffic circles.
  • Just after going under a bridge is Savuka Plant.
  • Keep following that road, and turn right at the first road after the plant.
  • Continue straight into West Wits Satellite Training Centre.
  • Park in the outside parking area, and walk to enter through Security
  • Follow directions on notice boards to Right 2 Skills Lecture Room, which is next to the internal parking area.
